Thought I'd take advantage of my Oldmeldrum Co-op errand by nipping up Hill of Barra whilst it still has the novelty of snow cover.
The route is well sign-posted and uses four stiles to cross from field to field up the hillside.

There is some pleasant woodland near the start.

Image
View west to Tap o' Noth with a surprise appearance of Dunnideer Hill in front.

Image
Plenty of arrows to point out the way.

Image
First stile with hilltop beyond.

Image
There aren't any good views of the hill on the way up but it does catch the eye on the road from Inverurie to Oldmeldrum.

The second stile.

Image
Tap o' Noth and Dunnideer again.

Image
The third stile.

Image
Knock Hill to the north.

Fourth and final stile.

Image
Hill of Foudland and Hill of Tillymorgan.

Image
Tap o' Noth and Dunnideer again.

The Buck.

You've got me on Google again.

Unless there's two Hills of Barra this one has a fort on top and has great views of Bennachie (I'm doubting myself as you would normally have a photo of Bennachie in your report)??

You are correct Gordie, there is a good view of Bennachie but it wasn't showing up too well with the flat light and general snow cover:
