"You've got the wrong size of oranges. You'll have to get two loose ones from the Co-op."
So it was that I came to plan a walk for the following day (today) in the forecast bright weather to Bin of Cullen, returning along the A98 and A947 via Banff Co-op. There you can visit the western aisles and the northern aisles in one trip.

Image
The A947 narrows alarmingly to one lane. I was not expecting this!

Image
Target ahead.

Image
Must have been a fair bit of snow here too.

Image
There's a good view of the top from near the start but it never seems to photograph well.

Image
There's a mix of ice, soft snow and slush on the track up.

Image
View west over Spey Bay.

Image
View south to Knock Hill.

Image
Durn Hill to the east.

Image

Image
Near the top.

Image

Image
Balaclava on to stop it blowing off! It is a bit breezy.

Image
View east over Little Bin.

Image

Image
The shadow of the mighty Bin.

Image

Image
Sandend Bay.

Image
Buckie and Spey Bay.

Image
At the top.

Image
Binn Hill is the small bump seen across the bay.

On the way down.

Image
The eponymous Cullen.

Image
Ben Rinnes emerges from the gloom.

Image
The hairpins of the descent provide alternating east and west views. The air a bit clearer now.

Image

Image
Hazy view of some Sutherland hills.

Image
Rinnes again.

Scurran of Well.

Made it to the Co-op in Banff but knew in my heart that the two oranges I obtained there were going to be deemed too large again.
It was a good walk that reminded me of the enjoyment that can be had from even a short walk up a small hill, particularly these days.

You kept me waiting till the end to discover why the oranges were the wrong size but it turns out they were too big (couldn't you just cut a bit off or would that not work??) Sorry, I need detail

I just do what I'm told and hope I don't get a row! But happy to go on orange errands if I can combine it with a walk.
