Killyleoch Hill and Built The Cairn☺♥ Dundrum Plantation

Hello everyone Todays trip we start from small area where we can park cars called Dundrum Plantation. We access Townhead farm from B729 road.

We start by walking through the gate next to the parking area.

We follow the farm road to the next gate.

When we pass the gate we cross the fields with two sand stone walls.

Second wall.

On the end of the second field there is a wall. When you cross it go to the right keep going up to the hill.

Forest is a bit rough but is very short way to the top

On the end of the forest we cross dry stone wall from this point we can see the summit of the hill

Top of the hill was with 5 stones as a cairn :/

So whole family decided to make it a new cairn

Glad you enjoyed your walk. It is not a parking area, it is a purpose made turning area for farm machinery and forestry equipment and you need to ask at the farm if it is ok to park there, it normally will be but occasionally essential farm activity requires the use of the turning area. Cutting silage, spreading slurry and moving cattle cannot wait.
