Plans were to be there for 8am but slept in so got to car park 9.30 am and headed on up to A' Chailleach meeting a number of walkers on the way, I had been planning on heading round the other way up to Carn Dearg firstly but for some reason as soon as I had arrived headed on up the other way without thinking. Weather wasn't to bad although it was meant to be a bit clearer but wasn't to be on approaching A' Chailleach summit. Once on the summit it had cleared but not for long, it was busy at that time so didn't hang about and moved on to 2nd summit of the day. On approaching Carn Sgulain summit I met with another 2 walkers on there way to the 3rd and final summit of the day, wasn't much to see up there so again it was of to the 3rd summit Carn Dearg tailing the 2 walkers just in front of me. Finaly reaching the summit of Carn Dearg the cloud was starting to lift when meeting with more walkers heading round the other way. I had been advised to go the other way as there is a bit of a long walk back to the car park from here but i'am now glad I took this route as the walk back down heading down the glen the sun appeared out probably the best part of the day for me, its amazing how a bit of sunshine can perk you up well for me any way. Great veiws the end of the day although a bit of a wet start and ending a pretty good walk(wouldn't like to be up there in a wet day) took a seat on the bench at the car park taking in the veiws before heading of home. Another pretty good day hoping for the cairngorms up aviemore they were looking spectacular on the way home, fingers crossed :)

I have these three on my radar and also hope to take in the Graham Creag Liath, so its good to see the route you came off Carn Dearg is possible. Cheers

I'm starting to get positively green with envy here - just about every WR I look at it is on my planning list (growing by the second bu going nowhere) including these hills 8) Helpful walk details and photos though you'd want to watch the edge of the cornice in IMGP0452.JPG. I'd been looking at coming south from Carn Dearg via Cairn Macoul so, like johnny corbett, it's interesting to see your route. :D
