A day of warm sunshine and low wind, in stark contrast to recent weather!

Parked in Tillycoultry and made the steep ascent past the glen. I took each right-hand fork in the path, which meant that I ended up at the cairn close to Elistoun Hill and from there made the short detour to this minor top.

I soon regained the path and made my way to the col between King's Seat Hill and Andrew Gannel Hill where I had a quick break before walking up to the summit. Once there, I wasn't quite sure which cairn marked the top as from each the other looks marginally higher! However, it is the spot height that counts. I quickly regained the col, then detoured to Maddy Moss as I wanted to visit Skythorn Hill and Cairnmorris Hill. Although not marked, there are paths to both of these points. The view from the latter to Ben Chonzie and Ben Vorlich are lovely, although you do need to look through the wind farm.

I made my way back over Andrew Gannel Hill, enjoying the sunshine.

My intention was to come back down via the path above the Gannel Burn, but I decided to head over The Law instead, where I was rewarded with some lovely views.

The drop down from The Law was as steep as always and I was glad to reach the footbridge at the base and from there, a short walk to the car.

A lovely day and great to encounter some warmth in the sun in mid-March.
