Hill of Tillymorgan

A quick visit to a small hill just down the road from us. Been there a couple of times before but missed the trig point. This time I turned off the main track up just before the end and found the easy path there that bypasses the old quarries.

There used to be a nice wooden sign at the start of the walk worded "two mile walk" but it seems to have disappeared.

Dunnideer Hill (with summit castle remains just visible), Hill of Christ's Kirk and Knock Saul. Three good hills though they don't look like much from here.

Didn't realise you were local to this area - folks bide in Pitmedden so I pop over here now and again. It's a lovely wee hill with great views, as your post testifies.

I'm always impressed that Pitmedden has a football pitch with floodlights, not that I've actually seen the pitch; I just used to drive that way twice a week to play football in Ellon. We also used to walk round Pitmedden House grounds occasionally but haven't been for a while.
Tillymorgan definitely worth the small effort of the climb.
