We had a slightly rainy morning but it cleared up in time for the afternoon and the chance to enjoy this forest walk.
A short drive from Rothesay took us to Rhubodach ferry terminal where we were able to pick up the start of the walk.
We headed through fields to begin with before ascending to try and find the path - we got a wee bit turned around here but eventually got on the right track and headed into the forest proper.
- Forest Light
It was slightly boggy underfoot but a lovely walk through the forest and past the ruins of Balnakailly Farm.
- Ruins
We were slightly short on time and, my friend having fallen knee high into a bog, we decided to miss out the detour to the bunker and carry on the loop to return to the car. The return part of the walk was through some impressively high forestry.
- Tall Trees
All in all a lovely wander in the trees with the highlight of some ruins to augment the experience.
