This was our last full day on Bute and we were lucky enough to have some lovely weather. We set off after breakfast and drove to Kilchattan Bay - which was in itself a lovely drive from Rothesay.
The route was very well marked and easy to pick up from just beyond the parking area.

We followed along the coast to begin with, with a few slightly rocky areas but nothing very challenging. As the weather was so fair it was lovely to be by the shore.

Once the lighthouse at Rubh an Eun came into view we headed towards it for some pictures and then stopped in the neighbouring Glencallum bay for a picnic lunch. The bay offered great views over to Arran.

The return portion of the loop headed more inland and past St Blanes Chapel. We had a wee look around there before continuing on the route which has a bit of a climb up through a field with great views and then descending through a wee bit of forest and back to Kilchattan bay.

We had perfect weather and it was the perfect way to spend our last day on Bute.
