Fairly easy walking, good access from Maybole. The route is mostly on quiet country roads and tracks. The highlight is the monument on Kildoon Hill which does offer beautiful views. The route is very peaceful if a little bit dull after the descent as the route is on-road and retracing your steps. The highlight of this route is Killdoon Hill and The obelisk monument to Sir Charles Fergusson of Kilkerran. Explore this monument and enjoy panoramic views and a peaceful walk on quiet country lanes. Go on a clear day and you can see for miles around for beautiful panoramic views. Only a short distance from Maybole yet the roads you will be walking o are extremely quiet, and it is very peaceful. A great route to get away from the crowds at other popular walking spots.
