Ascended Sgorr na Craobh Chaorainn first, in reverse to the wh route. Came back down the Cona Glen, no real track until we met the right of way at the bealach (NM898746). Didn't fancy the third "Corbett" on the wh guide, one for the baggers. (It's not even got a name - Druim Tarsiunn referring to the druim to the north of the Corbett summit.)

Sgurr Ghiubhsachain was a brilliant summit to make. The only tricky part was the descent from S C a' C which required some care, however we had perfectly dry conditions and otherwise the ascent of Sgurr G would have been more taxing.

To my mind, the attraction of Sgurr Ghiubhsachain lay in the prospect of returning the view towards the Glenfinnan monument, this required detouring to the minor summit to the east (NM877754).

However the best view of the day turned out to be from the crags on the northwest slopes of Meall nan Creag Leac (NM860747), another very short detour, as this provided an unbroken view of Loch Shiel all the way from Glenfinnan to Atharacle -a view I didn't know could be seen from any vantage point.

It would be a real shame to have put in all the work to miss out on that view and throughly recommend anyone else doing the walk to make the short detour and minimal extra effort.
