Monday morning and we got parked no problem and set off walking at 0830. Not a breath of wind at the start of the walk.
Having read various walk reports before leaving I definitely agree the the path goes up from the get go for 4km! Nice easy to follow path with lots of stone steps. Took us 1hr 20 to reach the summit then a short stop to refuel before heading back down via the Stank Glen. Pretty windy at the top but no need for a hat on this occasion, although we did don our waterproof jackets and thin gloves toward the top. This return leg was steep to begin with, with lots of loose stone/rocks and a little boggy in places but with some careful footing we got through this section unscathed and then from around the 6km mark it was a lovely wander back to the start taking in the scenery. A total of 2hr 55m walking time and 3.5hours start to finish including all stops.
Would recommend this route if your looking for a circular route instead of an out and back.
