Parked at a quiet Green Well of Scotland just before 9 for the pleasant walk up to the abandoned mining village beyond Garryhorn, where we had our break in the sunshine. The track to Knockower wanders a bit, but is easy to follow. From the col with Corran of Portmark, it is only a short walk to the summit with the view to Loch Doon. During the ascent, we had a snow shower, but by the top it was clearing.

The walk to Corran of Portmark is on an ATV track, which makes the going pretty easy and straightforward.

Further down the ridge, we could see quite a bit of the recent, unseasonal snow, which was deep at points and very soft, although I imagine it would have melted over the next couple of days.
It was a pleasant walk along the ridge to Bow, with the improving weather meaning we had developing views over to the Merrick and the rest of the Awful Hand.

A bit of a drop then a climb to the trig on Meoul.

We then retraced our steps to Corran of Portmark before descending back to Carsphairn and the car after an enjoyable and satisfying day.
