Since lockdown I have been heading for Dunkeld twice a week and also doing three five mile walks from the house but whilst I'm covering a good weekly mileage there is no climbing.
Today was my first hill of the year and I wanted a gentle and easy introduction so went for Blath Bhalg, a 641m Graham with a fairly high starting point.
I sat in the car for quarter of an hour waiting for the rain to stop but it didn't look like it was going to so just went for it.
Initially the track is very wet and grassy but within 5 minutes of leaving the car behind I was on slightly higher and drier ground with only the odd boggy bit that was easily avoided.
The rain eased off and I didn't bother with waterproofs as it wasn't cold. The low cloud persisted so there was little to see other than the route ahead.
The track is easy to follow as far as a fence line which is then followed to the top. After most of the height is gained there are still a couple of drops and re-ascents before reaching the summit.

I took a few photos at the summit then started to head back down the path. Further down I was able to see over to Loch Broom which was obscured on the way up.
Back at the car in a few minutes under 2 hrs so not a major undertaking but nice to bag my 1st hill of the year.
