Aye right

Attadale or Linn o dee - that was the question.
Don't have a big enough motor, don't have a bike rack , don't like biking that much. A big walk in one one day was on.
Weather watching until the day before.
Linn o dee won and Richy and myself met up at the co in Braemar. Slept in the motors, up early, paid the 3 quid parking, breakfast and walking for about half 5/ quarter to 6.
I must admit, the first 10 kn kinda flew in. On over white bridge, past the new build,

Not sure what this is gonna be

over the burn ( then saw the bridge 😃). 2 river crossings - not too bad, boulder hop wisely. Then up past the hut to the ruins and wee shelter.

Had a break in the run down hut here. It had a roof which would be a bonus if you needed shelter

Had a break here then pushed on again on the path which leads to the final burn crossing.
Then it was a pathless steep ascent up to the ridge and onto the first summit.
It was a slow stop start ascent for me and heather bashing, Knee still playing up!!
1st summit reached ,

sat for 10 minutes and savoured it, but it was getting a bit cold up here and there was a bank of cloud about to head over us. It did and the hailstones came as we followed the path around and down. It looks a big drop and reascent from up here. Think it was about 300m in reality.
1st part of the ascent was pathess but then a small path is picked up leading to the large summit cairn and shelter.

An Sgarsoch summit

Enjoyed reaching this and chuffed. Good views all round and not cold.

Over to the Atholl hills

But the time had come for that long walk back ' and boy did it feel long, and tiresome .
Down off the summit through a bit of snow followed the burn down on the rhs and onto the wee path which skirts round, then suddenly comes to an end.
A few hundred metres of more heather bashing and down to the main path and long route back.
Got back over the rivers again without getting too wet and went over the bridge this time at the burn.

White Bridge never seemed to get closer but it was finally reached. Had another wee break here. Feet were getting sore now and they needed it.
And then it was just about 5km back which seemed to never end. It was a quiet just put one foot in front of the other walk back from here. Hadn't seen a soul all day but met 4 here who were heading past us.
And the car park was reached , and the cars , yes, and the toilets, and the rain came on and went off and the coffee was made
Epic day monster walk .
Enjoy and Don't underestimate it if your going to walk these 2 in one go
Cheers, and cheers to Richy

This brings back happy memories as it was 7 yrs ago I walked this route and it was a long day. I'm not in to biking/walking but I can see why a lot of people would choose to use the bike for these two.

Looks like you got a good day for it (can't imagine these two on a bad day).
