Just wanted to post details of a camping spot we found just south of An Socach. I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else online and Dan Bailey does not refer to it in his Great Mountiain Days in Scotland book either.

There is a spur just south of An Socach which you can reach SW from the bealach between An Socach and An Riabachan. The ground is level and dry with tremendous views towards the south and east (not so great for a sunset). The bonus is a fresh spring that flows from the south side of An Socach and does not appear on the landranger map. I would say the spring flow is even stronger than the one on the west side of Sgurr na Lapaich.

The spot is expansive with plenty of camping opportunities and high level at over 800m. We were coming from Ben Fhionnlaidh so the spot was a hopeful hunch and it paid off handsomely. One of the best wild camp spots any of us had experienced! The next day was a very pleasant yomp east over the other three Munros before arriving back at the dam. A ***** trip!
