Join Alistair and Douglas on the final day of a 3 day trip to the Highlands! Saving the best for last, we have Ben Cruachan and Stob Daimh. Ben Cruachan is a particularly fine mountain - the tallest in Argyll and Bute, at a height of 1126 metres. The conical, rocky peak gives Cruachan an imposing and dramatic appearance from every angle. The ridge walk from Ben Cruachan across to Stob Daimh is excellent, crossing a series of rocky slabs that often necessitate a wee bit of scrambling.
Cruachan also has a secret! Often known as the "Hollow Mountain", there is a huge underground hydro-electric power station beneath the central corrie. Guided tours are available, should you wish to venture under the mountain!
