Walked out of fisherfield the day previously and thought about sleeping in the car again or putting the tent back up. As it was my birthday I thought sod that treat yourself . Forestway bunkhouse was full so it was a bandb in ullapool, the chippie, a shower, long comfy lie in ( till half 6) great breakfast and out the door and head up past Elphin to Breabag
Just a few pics from a good wee ( windy) walk

The start of the walk

On past the waterfall and pool

Then along on the lower path past the bone caves

then got higher above the stream bed till clear of the high point and down to the stream bed again.
Time to head up and it was time for the weather to start getting windier .
And it got windier and it got wetter tried to stay left of some creags on the way to the summit to stop briefly for a few seconds out the wind.
Passed a ptarmigan faking the old wounded wing and about 6 of her young on the way up. Hardy creatures!!

Windiest I've felt it ion a top in a couple of years- fighting to stay upright
Brief minute or so in the windshelter out the weather and time to head down- a bit quicker.

The way I'd just come

Went upto the bone caves for a nosey inside on the way back and stopped at Elphin t room for a coffee before the long journey back south.
A good few days away - it always is up the far north

Hi

Climbed this Corbett 4 days after you after camping out just to the east of the Bone Caves ( I had climbed another Corbett Carn Chuineag earlier in the day). Weather was much kinder with a little breeze on summit and great visibility. Must have been the same Ptarmigan I saw with broken wing display just short of summit. Managed to film adult but chicks had hidden by then!! Great hill and a good report.
