GLEN EY WALK
The 2nd hike of the weekend in Braemar, we decided to go along Glen Ey with the intention of going up Carn Bhac.
It was a truly glorious day, definitely needed my water pack that day.
We left the carpark at Inverey,
- Car Park
and it wasn't long before we crossed the small bridge which has a nice wee rocky river thing going on!!

We kept pressingon until we reached the ruin Auchelie which many sheeps were currently residing and took a right turning towards Cairn nan Seileach.

The map shows that after Cairn nan Seileach, the path soon ended, but we were unsure why. But soon found out when we hit the peats!! We decided to make a go of it and see how we got on. It ended up taking forever trying to get through the peats, and with being pressed for time and Carn Bhac still a fair bit away, we decided to call it a day and headed back.

I think next time we are looking at continuing the Glen Ey right round to Altanour Lodge, then ascend to Carn Bhac.
