A lovely walk including woodland and river side paths. The road sections are minimal with very little traffic. Parking is limited at Canonbie Hall as the guide indicates, so an alternative is to drive across the bridge at Canonbie then turn left down the deadend road and park about 0.5 km along this road in a layby. The trail goes past this layby anyway. Signage on the walk is great. We had the map for this walk included in a set of 14 Walks from Langholm which we purchased for 5 pounds in the nearby Clan Armstrong Centre which is also worth a visit. The riverside sections will be muddy after heavy rain and the section along the north bank of the Liddle River is not well used and was overgrown already in early June, so long pants are recommended as there were lots of nettles and bramble bushes.
