I set myself a goal of reaching 50 Munros this year, starting at 17 when restrictions lifted. I was desperate to get to 30 relatively soon and decided to try a variation of the Glas Maol circuit taking in the first 2 Munros of the normal circuit Carn an Tuirc and Cairn of Claise, then heading over to Tolmount and Tom Buidhe to make a slightly different circuit of 4. This gave me the opportunity to include the last 2 of the normal circuit or head back to the car depending on how I was feeling.

I set off very early and was pleased to see the sun was out, along with a forecast suggesting it would remain that way for the rest of the day. What I wasn't too happy about was the wind that was unrelenting. For the entire 8 hours it did not stop. It felt strange to be wrapped up whilst still applying sun tan lotion! After getting to the last Munro of the circuit Creag Leacach it felt like a fantastic achievement, but the walk back to the start was very daunting and I was very happy for the rest at the end.
