A sunny day for a very peasant walk. We parked at the rough layby on the A93 and enjoyed the easy walk up the glen, before leaving the track and following the path up the shoulder to the Munro top. On my previous visit in 1995, it was quite a slog along the stony ridge to the main top, but there is now a path that makes the going much easier.
At the cairn, we could enjoy views of the Glenshee hills, Lochnagar and the Caringorm plateau.
- Cairngorms from An Socach
To vary the return we dropped off the ridge to the minor top of Carn Chuirn and from there skirted to the next small summit.before more of an ascent to Sgor Mor.
- The Glenshee hils from just before Sgor Mor
From there, it was a short, but steep descent to the valley floor and from there, just a short walk back to the car.
