A Fine Summer's Walk

We drove out in the afternoon and parked in what didn't really look like a car park, more like a lay-by. It was a bit warm and white clouds created nice, moving shadows across the landscape. We had both our dogs on the lead as the fields looked they could contain livestock, most of the fields didn't, but there were warnings on some of the stiles.
The views of the glens were fab. The dogs were more interested in doing sniff snoffs, and were particularly interested in a mossy hump, we thought there might be a mouse in there, but out jumped a stoat! Soon after we saw a deer and the dogs couldn't contain their excitement and pulled us fast into the forest. This next stage was safe to let one of the dogs off lead, though he did disappear into the forest for a while. Next we came to more fields, with sheep this time, and then a final rest before making our way back to the car.
A fine and varied walk with lots of wildlife and well waymarked. Dog friendly if they're on a lead, some of the stiles even had hatches that you could lift to let the dogs through, which was great as our dogs haven't mastered stiles yet.
