Just amazing - the most wonderful report I've read on WH, except for your last "family and friends in the far NW" report (or perhaps the one before that
).
This
has to be the report of the month; for the engrossing narrative (most of us can't even contemplate lugging heavy boats anywhere, let alone across the Scottish hills!), for the wonderful pics of the area (eg sunset over Loch a'Bhaid-luaraich, but many many others also); and for the multiple team pics that capture so well the feel of an enterprise like this.
Absolutely brilliant!
Loved the midgie hats, BTW: it just shows that there is a price to pay - albeit a very modest one - for a sojourn in paradise.
I stand corrected on the pronunciation of A'Mhaighdean: I'd always thought it was a-vie-kyun. But however we pronounce the unpronouncable, it's got to be one of the most spectacular mountains in Scotland. I approached it from the South East, an entirely unremarkable route - until you hit the summit, and suddenly have before you the breathtaking views into the depths. Your approach looks like it is probably the best, from a views/environment perspective; but I would still want to make the case for the approach that I did, because of the way the truly shocking views suddenly appear out of nowhere.
Thanks for publishing such a wonderful report
