Creag a'Mhaim 947m / 3107' and Druim Shionnach 987m / 3238'

We set off from the private road east of the Cluanie Inn and followed the track that leads off this road until we were able to take the path up the southeastern spur of Creag a’ Mhaim. After a significant amount of zigzagging this leads up to the top and the small summit cairn.

We then followed the ridge, which briefly gets quite narrow, up to Druim Shionnach. The weather was the best we’d had all week and the views in all directions were excellent.

We then descended the north rib of Druim Shionnach, curving around the steeper section until we reached Loch a’ Mhaoll Dhisnich. After crossing the stream a quite distinct, if narrow, path was picked up and we followed this down until we reached the main track again, which we followed back down to our starting point. A very enjoyable outing and a much shorter route than most follow on this excellent ridge, but sufficient for those in our 70th year!
