Date: 14/08/2021.
Distance: 10.5km.
Ascent: 420m.
Time: 2 hours 45 minutes.
Weather: Low breeze, some sunshine.

Another typical weekend of making plans and then deciding that they were too ambitious. As it was, Jackie wasn't able to do much until after lunch, at which point she felt a bit more human. There was no point going anywhere too distant, so we pulled Beinn Bhudhie Mhor out of the bag - one of our lockdown possibilities that didn't happen in the end. I do have a circular walk in mind for this but it would have added another 5km on. Best to play it safe and stick to the shortest route.

We finally set off after 4pm, passing Finglack. the walk is pretty straightforward, following estate tracks up through the woods initially, then climbing across the moorland.

Although I struggle to get too excited about this hill, the views back over the Inner Moray and Beauly Firths are well worth the effort - this is probably the best summit in the area for this outlook.

There is a short section of boggy path leading from the estate track to the trig point but it was quite dry today. My previous visits here had been plan z in poor weather, so it was good to see what could be seen from here We had a decent break on the summit.

After that, we reversed our route back to the car. The odd midge was lurking which was annoying as there were an abundance of wild raspberries to pick at.
