Walked this route on a bright sunny day with my two daughters aged 18 and 20. We’re used to long walks but had never tackled anything this high before. The path up from Corrie is steep but manageable and very easy to follow. We had an amazing day, and the views from the top are incredible. A word of warning though - this route takes you from North Goat Fell to Goat Fell across Stacach Ridge, which is definitely not for the faint hearted! We weren’t expecting the path to be quite so precarious, or to be forced to scramble and climb with sheer drops behind us. No doubt this is relatively straightforward stuff for experienced scramblers and climbers, at least in good weather. But for us it was a truly hair raising experience at times!

For other similarly inexperienced walkers and families we’d recommend taking the route up from Brodick which is longer but, whilst still challenging, doesn’t have the same element of outright danger if the weather is good!

Despite all that Goat Fell is an unforgettable experience for all the right reasons. Approach it with respect and it will reward you in spades - enjoy! 8)
