After we had trained our legs yesterday on Ben Ledi we felt us fit for the first Munro of the year.
Ben Lawers was the one and may be we will extend the route over the ridge to An Stuc.
Fortunately the car park wasn't as busy as yesterday at Ben Ledi there were only 4 cars on it.
We start enthusiastic on the walk and looking ahead for the summit. On the Way we have to realise that a Munro is a bit higher than a Corbet and one walk gives not the fitness to run up the next one.
The path up to Ben Lawers is good but a long steep going speciality for our Berlin lowland legs.
Until Beinn Ghlas we lost a lot of our energy but the views were great and we enjoyed the whole way up.
The summit of Ben Lawers was most of the time covered in clouds with only some clear breaks. We hope that it will clears up when we reach top. The final ascent to the Summit goes through some snowfields and the wind getting stronger and was very chilly. On the top it was cloudy
, cold and very unpleasent so we take only a quick photo ad turning back.
Our original plan to extend the route was given up because we were a bit exhausted and the ridge looked very unfriendly in the cloudy cold conditions.
On the the way back we have had near the summit of Beinn Ghlas a cup of tea in a wind sheltered sunny place enjoying the sun with a view back to the now clear summit of Ben Lawers.
