We had planned to do a lightweight camp along this route, but a member of the party had forgotten their sleeping bag, so that never happened, but the walk did.
- A large squirrel
It's a brilliant walk, Loch Migdale is well worth it on its own. The first stage of the walk you encounter some oversized red squirrels, quite intimidating at first, but also very cool. A lady we met told us about the successful reintroduction of the red squirrels and a few other interesting facts about the area.
- Squirrel in the tree
After the loch the walk climbed steeply uphill, and we lost one of our dogs for ten minutes., which set the tone for the rest of the walk. In fact I think we spent the rest of the walk looking for our dogs.
- First viewpoint
The detour to the second viewpoint is well worth it. Because of our badly behaved dogs it only took us three hours to get there, if you also have disobedient dogs keep them on the lead, something exciting is living in the forest there.
The rest of the walk is through pleasant woodlands, on forestry tracks. A good exercise mentally and physically for both dogs and humans.
