Walked the saddle via the by pass avoiding the Forcan ridge. HF weekend. Forecast was high winds so the ridge was off. A great walk with some views particularly on the way down from the beallac but mainly very misty. Lead by Sean from HF - Very good walk leader that surprised me - knew the route well, used on his map and compass to get around in heavy mist - checked with GPS only once. Was able to let us know what was coming up on the walk very accurately .
To do the ridge you take the same route and turn onto the ridge at a small cairn on the path - should be easy to find on a good day.
