We'd panned to climb Beinn Bhuidhe on the way home from Kilmarnock, but the wether went downhill on the morning of our walk so we decided just do a reccy of the area, using one to the hydro tracks to gain height. We turned back when the rain and wind coupled with a decided drop in temperature, convinced us we weren't really dressed for the conditions!
Enjoyed the walk though.
Bonnie Glen Fyne, misty morning
Further into the glen, with our route up just to the right of the trees
The route was along a hydro track - details about the community scheme
River Fine just after we crossed to the west
Almost looked like a small water mill
Looking south to Loch Fyne
The first shower brought a rainbow
Hydro scheme - there is another track which would have brought us to this point following a much more gradual route up the hill on the west side of the river.
Other end of the hydro reservoir
Looking east to a larger hydro scheme
We walked a bit beyond the hydro scheme but the weather was deteriorating so we decided to return. On the way back we checked out the wester approach and decided to go for that on our next visit to the area.
