My first Corbett was Glamaig on 29 August 1988 and the last was Beinn Iaruinn on 22 August 2021 - a tad under 33 years. Like you, initially I just walked without fully understanding hill classifications but soon the Munros dominated the walking agenda for many years. Reflecting on the Corbetts I agree with you that they're harder than the Munros for the reasons you outlined and also because they're not as well trodden with less distinct or often no clear paths.
As for the summit dram, mine was a 12 year old Glendronach 🥃
Your follow up day on the less travelled route up Suilven also brought back memories as this was the way I'd climbed it back in 1999.
Thanks paz - it's amazing how many of us seem to start off early then have a break before coming back to it in later life - am sure I'll never catch up on your Hewitts and Wainwrights though - cheers
