With a horrific weather forecast on pretty much every mountain within driveable distance it was a day for looking a bit closer to home for a walk. New Lanark and the Falls of Clyde looked like the perfect short afternoon walk that wasn't going to be too difficult, and given I just bought a new pair of boots it might even be a good place to break them in a bit.
The views of the river are spectacular, made even more impressive by the surging water cascading down the falls just now. You don't even have to do the full circuit to fully appreciate the waterfalls, however I would recommend heading to the opposit side from where you start to see them up close from a number of viewing areas.
