My husband and I and our two dogs did this walk on a lovely autumnal day when the river was reflecting the beautiful green, orange, yellow and brown leaves of the trees and the bracken.

The first part on the east side of the Tay mainly follows a tarmac cycle path which was quite busy with cyclists, other walkers and dogs. The second part on the west side of the Tay follows a more informal path through woods and there seemed to be fewer people around.

There were a couple of short, steeper rises to test the breathing, a low tunnel to walk through to cross under the railway and some steps up and down from the footbridge over the River Braan but otherwise it's an easy flat path.

Towards the very end when getting back to Dunkeld, the route seemed to vary a little from that described but the signposting was clear enough at that point. There had been a couple of points earlier when the direction posts had lost their signs for this path but it was not difficult to work out which way to go follow and the 'mint' coloured arrows were frequent and clear enough to keep you confident that you were going in the right direction.
