This is a lovely walk. I chose Beinn Each as I was walking solo and it seemed straight forward as I am wary hill walking on my own. Got parked no problem at the suggested lay-by, however, I imagine that parking may be difficult if you go at the weekend. The walk begins by going up the side of a house which is being renovated just now. Then into woodlands. Some trees have fallen over the path but all were easily negotiated. The path is easy to follow and continues up through the forest until you come to a forest road. There is ongoing forestry work so this means that the forestry road, after the recent rain, is muddy, very muddy! Hence the reason for the title! And it’s very clatty mud. There is a little detour to avoid the log stacks but this is fine as it takes you off the muddy road.
Further along the signpost points to Beinn Each path.
The path is straight up and quite steep initially but then it meanders it’s way and the going is easier. Cracking views through Glen Ample towards Lochearnhead. The autumnal colours are at their best now. The wind picked up as I neared the top and it got quite cold too. The rocky summit came into view at last. Stuc a’Chroin dominates as it is close. There were several rutting deer heard but not seen! A few photos taken then time to get out of the cold wind and head down.

Would agree with you - a nice walk up from Loch Lubnaig. Used this route to go via Beinn Each to Stùc a' Chròin - don't recall it being muddy but it was quite a while ago so probably before the forestry work - cheers :)

how interesting, I was planning to do this route in mid-September, taking in Stuc as well. I backed out, for similar reasons to you, a bit daunted doing it on my own and I'd had a hard walk the day before, so I rested on my laurels and went home. you've motivated me return and take it by the scruff of the neck.
