- Finding our way through the dunes
There were 7 slightly hungover adults and 2 sprightly dog rearing for fresh air and a slight wind to blow the cobwebs away. We started following the walk description through the dunes, but rather soon our leader decided it would be nicer to walk along the beach. One of our dogs had found a treasure (ball) that she lost in a small lagoon, so off with the boots and in I went. Quite refreshing, but I didn't want the ball to get lost in the ocean and swallowed by a whale.
- Beach time
We used the walkhighlands map to find our way back to the dunes and the path. Eventually we reached the area where the seals can be seen, so dogs on leads for a bit, however not a seal to be seen. Further along there are sheltered information boards where you can read the history of area, including the ice house, which is a short distance away. From the ice house the route follows a wide gravel path, but it turned out to be a bit of a slog, so we found a path that lead into the forest on the left. We found a more interesting path that ran parallel to the gravel path, so all good, and eventually we ended up in the car park again.
- On the gravel path
Good walk for dogs, but should be on leads in the nature conservation area. 🐕
