It's only taken me 26 years but i finally got around to bagging my first Munro - Ben Lomond.
A brisk but sunny December's day made for incredible views, the first hour or so was probably the toughest, a lot of rocky segments but nothing unmanageable.
After around the 500 meter mark the ice and snow started to kick in. It was easier to walk through the grassy marsh areas than the paths for most of the rest to the peak as some parts were extremely icy.
The views from the summit were unlike anything i've ever seen, if you're thinking about going for your first munro i can't recommend enough. Knees took a bit of a battering coming back down and the snow hid some crevices, managed to only slip a few times. Overall one of my best experiences ever, the first of many Munros.
