We hadn’t had the best sleep, but decided that we’d drive into Tomnavoulin and go for a short walk up Carn Daimh. We were actually aiming for the carpark but accidentally took the wrong road – there was space to park out o the way though and this worked better for us anyway. We got our kit on and headed up the road.

We followed tracks slowly towards and then underneath the hill

It was one of those days where it wasn’t really raining but was definitely a bit dreich!
Image

Eventually we headed into the forest – we were nearly at the point where we’d turn back along the ridge
Image

Now on the ridge, we could see the summit ahead – it wasn’t that much up, but a fair bit of along!

The Ladder Hills

It was a really lovely walk, but I was definitely struggling today

As we broke out of the forest there was some snow about

I’d slowed to a crawl by now – it was really slow going, but at least it was easy underfoot

Summit of Carn Daimh at last!
Image

The Ladder Hills – it looked slightly brighter for a moment!
Image

We headed down the front of the hill – we could see the Buck ahead
Image

We managed to shortcut through a field following one of the local trails – this led us past a lot of sheep which Malky was very happy about….

The short distance back to the car was a struggle and it was starting to rain as we arrived. We had previously hoped to go up the Bochel too but there was no way I’d manage that.

We headed out to the Queen’s View carpark for lunch and a quick stroll to the viewpoint before heading home.
