Beautiful day, blue sky, little wind cool, just nice for walking. Walked the route to the old township, could see Marble Lodge and the other side in deep shadow. I was enjoying the solar gain too much to spend any time in cold dark areas so turned around after exploring the area and crossed Gilbert's Bridge to the other side and up the shortcut to the old road. Pretty boggy in parts and a dead tup or ram to walk past but still nice and sunny all the way back to the Tilt and the carpark. Had never been up the glen before so this was really a taster for possible hill walks later on. Several interesting hills up here but big walks required. Will be back..
