Did this earlier today, what can I say…fantastic and many thanks to half man half titanium for posting this easy to follow guide.
The grass path was such a welcome change from the usual bulldozed tracks, however I would say be aware that the when traversing through the grass and fern covered slopes it’s akin to a jungle! I’m 5’7” (not the tallest I know 😂) but there were many times the grasses and ferns were above shoulder height! It was also very, very wet underfoot at these stages so this is definitely one for long trousers, long sleeves and sturdy boots.
Otherwise it was a brilliant day out in the hills, great way to get away from the crowds (never seen a single other person today, had the whole place to myself, while I seen all the ant like walkers scurrying over the giant ant hill that is Ben Vorlich!
In case anyone is interested, I left the car at 11am, made the summit at 1:30pm, had around 30 minutes for lunch and to enjoy the beautiful views and was back at the car for 4pm. A wonderful way to spend a day and definitely recommend this walk to others. 👍🏻😊🏔
