The second walk of the day we parked in Buttermere on the NT car park

After a short walk on the road past Crag Houses we turned right onto the fell and could see the ridge above us called Low Bank and the summit to the left of the rock outcrop

This walk was all about the views in the Buttermere valley, an area my husband loves and thinks its the best views in the Lakes. As we gained height the valley opened up to us.

Higher still we could see the black of Haystacks and the two Gables behind

To the front right we had the dark mass of Grasmoor and Whiteless Pike nearer to us, looking back down the ridge was Robinson summit behind High Snockrigg

We now reached the rock outcrop with a short climb before the run to the summit

Some fantastic photos there, Susan, of what is a fine, wee hill in a beautiful setting.

You look very pensive in that penultimate photo though. You're either deciding on your next Wainwright or deciding what to have for your tea. In my case, it's usually the latter ... :lol:
