Creag Ruadh (Dalwhinnie) - the short way from the A9, from the bridge over Allt Garbh with Kids (8, 11, 17 yo)Stats:Total distance - 4.7 km
Total time - 3h23m
Walking time - 1h35m
Altitude gain - 332 m
The approach to the summit of Creag Ruadh is possible from more sides. We opted for a short approach from the NW.
1.7 km of the ascent was along a track, which was in some places muddy. The rest 900 m of the way up was pathless.
For the descent, we opted for a different way. From the summit we walked pathless straight down to the first turn on the track.
