This was the first walk with a little more push since I had my back operation five weeks ago, we started (myself and Bonnie my dog) at the Back O' Bennachie
IMG_0197.JPG
Start
we headed to the information board which had the walk of the day advertised as the Brown waymark walk called the Mither Tap Quarry Trail,

First sign
So we headed up through the woods to the dog leg to the right

Dog leg
after climbing through the forest on a quite steep path

through the forest
there was a bench which I resited taking a rest as It was only ten minutes in
IMG_0210.JPG
Bench
, and it was not long before Bonnie found the water and splash she was in again
IMG_0211.JPG
Bonnie in the water as usual
, It was not long before another great sign came into view, this is one walk where you don't need a map and compass as the signage is spot on, you can head out blind and decide as you go, with a short walk or a trek around the whole area,
IMG_0213.JPG
another sign
, eventualy I reached Little Oxen Craig
IMG_0225.JPG
path to little oxen craig

Little Oxen Craig
after a quick look round and a few photo's It was on and upwards to Oxen Craig
IMG_0242.JPG
Oxen Craig Cairn
IMG_0244.JPG
Oxen Craig Summit
and when on the summit the views were amazing, especially today with the weather being so good, after reaching the summit it was across to Mither Tap
IMG_0257.JPG
Looking across at Mither Tap
, after getting to the base of Mither Tap it looked a daunting task to get to the summit as my back was niggling a little at this time, so I bit my tongue and clambered to the summit
IMG_0264.JPG
Mither Tap Summit
and again it was worth every step as the views were fabulous, after a quick sip of water and a Mars bar it was down and accross towards Craigshannoch stopping off at the cairn on the way
IMG_0268.JPG
Cairn on Craigshannoch
, fifteen minutes later and the summit of Craigshannoch was conquered

Summit of Craigshannoch
and that's all three done and the downhill trek back to the car and a well earned rest for Bonnie (honest), all in all a great start to the fitness regime.

Very true indeed, I am still teaching her to stay close while we walk, but as soon as she sees water, birds, and other people she is away, but I will get there with a little patience. :D
