Sgurr nan Eag

Our ascent off this mountain was quite an epic, having done Sgurr Nam Gillean the day before we set off from Glenbrittle Youth Hostel in what I believe is called " a Scottish Clag " up Coire na Banachdich to cross the bealach into Coruisk visibility probably only 30 yards all the way up , considering it was July the weather was unbelievably cold - we all had most of our gear on, we had route finding problems descending into Coruisk unsure if we where going down the correct gully but not dangerously over-commited, we came to a point where we had to jump para fashion from one ledge down to another seemed like huge drop at time but was probably only 8 feet. Surely off route? Luckily a brief lift in cloud revealed a descendable scree slope towards Loch Coruisk. The atmosphere was so laden with moisture that my digital watches' screen misted up on the inside. Followed the boggy path around to the Coruisk Hut where we had a well earned nights sleep. Next morning we headed up to Gars Bheinn, stunning views of main ridge ahead and the panaroma of the seaboard and Outer Isles to our left, Soay below us looked so close that you could almost touch it, yesterdays' poor weather a distant memory back to shirt sleeve order. Very enjoyable ridge walking over to Sgurr nan Eag *NB* if you do this walk keep looking back where you have come from it is an amazing view, before descending into Coire Ghrunnda around coastal path and back to base at Glenbrittle which seemed much longer than the map distance suggested

That was a bit of an adventure!! Quite hard to even find your way up to Bealach na Banachdich in mist, I reckon.
