Target ahead.

Image
A good path almost the whole way to the top.

Image
A few long zigzags at the start. Already finding the heat and stillness a challenge but I plod on!

Image
View of summit.

Image
The path straightens out for quite a long way up to just before the summit.

Image

Image
Up at the beallach there's a good view of the Saddle.

Image
View south from beallach.

Image
The summit of Biod an Fhithich looks slightly challenging for my knees.

Image
Zoom shot of Forcan Ridge. I descended this in 1992 on a warm and windy summer's day, having made a route finding error at the start. Now I'm wondering which ridge I mistook for it on the ascent. I guess it was the north ridge since I was camping near Ratagan hostel.

Image
View north from final ascent slopes.

Image
The walk I did last September where I hurt my knees from nothing more than descent of 300m of a moderately steep slope at the end of the walk.

Image
The WH route description suggests the path is intermittent but I found it fairly distinct most of the way, maybe to do with the dry spell.

Image

Image
Not too taken with the summit view but that might be to do with the mid-day ascent and flat light which I don't really appreciate.

Image
View across Glen Shiel.

Image
Time to descend.

Image
Unnamed waterfall west of Meallan Odhar.

Image
Saddle summit.

Image
Basically no cloud until I decide to descend.

Image
Photo of interesting stone that someone is bound to thank me for including in this report.

Image
It is a warm descent and the deer can't be bothered with running away.
