Headed up Bishop Hill today with Moss, Zena and my new camera! Aside from some action shots still leaving the camera in auto...had Canon for around 18 years and decided to change to a Panasonic Lumix, it's taking a bit if getting used to!

I'd done this one before starting from Scotlandwell, and had a failed attempt (cows!) from Holl Reservoir before so this time decided to go via Glen Vale. There's a very small car park with picnic benches and bins. From there it was a short walk along the road to the signposted turning into Glen Vale. The walk through the glen is pleasant on a sandy track with not particularly great steps for those of us who aren't tall  Across one bridge, then just after the fork with John Knox Pulpit over another bridge. Shortly afterwards we turned off the main path onto a narrower short-cut path that went up to another track and led to a gate with a sign saying the fields was in use for lambing so keep dogs out. However there is a diversion path that runs alongside the field with padding over the barbed wire. Moss jumped over, Zena went under. The initial track is steep but easy enough on a wide track and leads round loosely following a wall before turning to head more directly towards the summit.

Had a play around with the camera here getting photos of the dogs running around and playing about before we headed back down, varying the route by taking a different track just beyond a gate that goes through a valley with a few trees managing to grow in the shelter, following the clear track down alongside a wall to reach the Glen Vale path for the return. Where it started snowing quite heavily, there had been a few light showers but we'd avoided the bulk of it just seeing them sweeping through in the distance but one had to catch us at some point
