Sub 2k Marilyns: Creag Bheag.
Date: 20/03/2022.
Distance: 6 km.
Ascent: 280m.
Time: 2 hours, 25 minutes.
Weather: Sunny, cold breeze.

We were on our way to Glasgow for the week so I suggested a small hill on the way. Although Jackie had probably been on walks with similar overall ascent this year, she hadn't actually been to the top of a hill since we were on Mull last November. Creag Bheag is a nice walk with a good path and there were lower level options if she didn't feel up to it once we got to the steep bit.

Much of this route we had covered in December when we'd walked around the hill rather than up it. When we reached the steep ascent above Loch Gynack, she was fine with it.

We had a break in a windbreak near the summit before visiting a couple of other cairns. The weather was great but there was a bit of a cold breeze which stopped us hanging around too long.

We used the other well-made path to the SE to descend back to Kingussie. A lovely afternoon. While Jackie definitely felt tired after doing this, she didn't have the same feeling of overdoing things and completely crashing that she had on most of our 2020 and 2021 hill exploits. This was great - it meant we could probably do some more small hills if she felt up to it on the day. Previously we had just gone and walked anyway, regardless of how she was feeling.
