Looking at the weather forecast we opted for an early start and so left the North Face car park at 06.00.

It was still a little chilly and it didn’t look like we would get any sun until we reached the top of CMD.

First glimpse of The Ben

A few days walking in the legs made it feel like a real slog, but when we reached the summit ridge we could pause and take in the views across to the Ben.

Annoyingly some clouds started to move in so it didn’t look like we would have any views traversing the arête.
But we got lucky and the skies cleared part way across, revealing an amazing vista. It’s not Crib Goch in terms of exposure, but it was nonetheless a great ridge walk.

On the atete

The climb to the Ben was hard work and we emerged onto the summit plateau that was completely covered in snow. It was also misty, but not so much as to hide the cornices over the gullies.

Summit of The Ben

There was a steady stream of people coming up the tourist route, some completely inappropriately dressed.
On the descent the sun fully emerged and it was beautiful as we turned off past the tarn and headed across to join our initial route up.
Back at the van in just over six hours, with time to relax before heading to Oban for the ferry to Mull and our big day tomorrow 😃

Fantastic.
Have an amazing day tomorrow.
Great choice for a final one - and the forecast is looking rather fine too.

(I also finished on Mull but in pouring rain and thick mist!!!! It was still a fabulous day)

Best of luck - but how sad that you want to rush your last Munros. I took 4 years to do my last five: every one a major event. Are you emigrating or something?
