This is a great walk for an easy day when weather makes the hills difficult. The bluebells were out in profusion beside the river and looked beautiful. However, the instructions for the return leg through the forest where there are so many tracks could be better. We went mildly wrong and wound up at Bargrenan. The cafe at Glen Trool visitor centre is very good and with picnic benches in a lovely riverside setting.
