Hi,

I was told that the cottage belonged to a Douglas Botting who was one of Gavin Maxwell's friends. There is a fantastic Inn where you can stay in Glenelg village too. It would be great though if someone let out the cottage as I bet there are loads of people who would love to stay there for a holiday!

The forest surrounding Sandaig has been strip cleared and now resembles the Shire at the end of Lord of the Rings. It is an unholy mess. Shocking that the forest owners couldn't have left a strip of trees around the area a few trees deep. It resembles those photos of No Man's Land from WW1
