As last posted (hope it in the right post and not boring you all) we are attempting to Walk the west highland way in September with no past experience in walking apart from a walk to the car or shop.
So Today we tried our new boots out with small walk from our home round Balloch park and back took longer as we had to stop in the park to let the kids play for a while our next planned walk will be longer but were is still to be sorted if any member reading this could recommend some hill walks close to Balloch would be much appreciated we are hoping to do our walking at lest 3 times a week to build us up this walk not much but as they say from small acorn a oak tree grows

There's some nice wee walks up the crags in Dumbarton. The Circular Path walk etc. Doughnot Hill is up there too. You can park up at Overton House and start there. Also a nice wee walk from the pumping station below the Erskine bridge slip road that takes you up onto the front of the Kilpatrick hills. If your walking in Balloch park try Whinnie Hill. The path goes off into the woods up past the castle just before the steep hill that takes you back down to the Loch. Its sign posted so keep an eye out for it. Takes about an hour or so. Or try walking up to Duck Bay and along the lochside along the cycle track. The cycle track actually goes all the way to Tarbert if you fancy a wee 16 mile walk, lol. Good luck on the WHW :D
